2018
Calus' early feeding problems
The Alpenwuff journey actually begins with the arrival of our clumsy puppy, Calu. During his first few months with us, the little one developed wonderfully and brought a lot of joy into the house. But when we switched from puppy food to adult food, disaster struck. Poor, dull fur and regular diarrhea led us to various veterinarians and testing various foods. But Calu continued to suffer, and we suffered with him.
2019
Cooking for the dog
Only contact with our nutritionist and the home-cooked meal were able to provide relief.
But cooking for our dog every day presented us with extreme challenges and wasn't a viable long-term solution. So we had to start looking for a high-quality, ready-made food alternative.
A final attempt followed to find a suitable ready-made food for Calu.
2019
The solution: cold-pressed dry food
During our search we came across a cold-pressed dry food .
The gentle manufacturing process, in which We were convinced that natural nutrients, vitamins, and fat sources are better preserved at low pressing temperatures (60 degrees Celsius). And Calu also initially did very well with a commercially available cold-pressed food.
2021
The first Alpenwuff food
But after a while, the frequency of diarrhea and flatulence increased again. Unfortunately, there was no food available that excluded certain ingredients to which Calu was increasingly sensitive.
So we quickly reconnected with our nutritionist, brought a small family pet food business on board, and by fall 2021, we had developed Calu's first own food - our cold-pressed dog food with poultry.
Fun fact: We initially stored it in Lea's children's room on the first floor.
2023
Expansion of the product range
Through our close, personal exchange with many great dog people, we have continuously developed our offerings over the past few years to meet your needs and wishes.
First, we added a sustainable food and an alternative for allergy sufferers to our range with our cold-pressed dog food with insects . We also developed something for sensitive furry friends with our cold-pressed dry food with lamb .
2024
A year full of innovations
First, we had to move. With only three types of food, we could no longer occupy the small shop around the corner.
After intensive discussions with many dog professionals, we've expanded our product range again. We've added various snacks , our salmon oil , a cold-pressed dry puppy food, and beef , as well as matching wet food in organic chicken , organic beef , and pasture-fed lamb ! Wow—so much has happened!
2025
Team expansion
We've now delighted over X furry friends with Alpenwuff. This means that quite a few packages leave our warehouse every day, and at the same time, many questions arise.
Because we always want to be there for you personally, we warmly welcomed Frederike, Silke, Nicole and Hubertus as permanent members of our team.

With our product range, we want to contribute to ensuring that more dogs receive good, healthy nutrition. Therefore, we offer high-quality nutritional solutions without compromise! We also provide education on nutrition-related topics. With our food varieties, we aim to offer our customers and friends a high-quality alternative that can be fed safely on an ongoing basis.
Alpenwuff food varieties therefore differ in four ways: market-leading, completely transparent labeling, select ingredients with provenance certification, regional production, and, of course, gentle production through cold-pressing (dry food) and cold-filling (wet food). We also consider sustainability in every decision and are the first cold-pressed dog food with 100% open labeling.
What sets us apart
Why is a Lower Saxony company called Alpenwuff?
This is a question we get asked again and again, considering we're from Ankum near Osnabrück. The answer is simple: We love the mountains and are true Tyroleans from the lowlands !
Even though we originally come from the north, we love being out in the mountains all year round. That's why one member of the Alpenwuff team (Lea) now lives in Munich. But one dog in particular is super happy in the mountains: our Calu. And it's precisely the vitality and happiness that Calu radiates when he walks through the lush mountain meadows. We would like to bring Alpenwuff into your daily feeding bowl to see how the dog chases up and down, balances on the rocks at the summit, or digs through the snow.
