This is Calu—the living reason we develop dog food. Towards the end of the coronavirus pandemic, Calu was repeatedly experiencing diarrhea. It turned out he was intolerant to certain ingredients. Confident that it wasn't anything serious, we started looking for a high-quality alternative.

Cooking isn't part of our daily routine, so we were looking for a dry food alternative. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single manufacturer of cold-pressed food that offered both transparently discloses the ingredients as well as the percentage of all ingredients. But that's exactly what we needed to get Calu's suffering under control.

We quickly decided to develop our own food for Calu. This means we know exactly which ingredients are used, in what quantities, and where the ingredients actually come from. For almost half a year we have been working together with our Partners We developed the first Alpenwuff food. Thanks to the many requests, it quickly became clear: We wanted to make Calu's food available to his four-legged friends as well.

Over time, we have had many discussions about dog nutrition and are shocked: Many dog owners are unaware of the importance of nutrition for a long and healthy dog life. In addition, many dog owners base their knowledge on misinformation, while the majority of commercially available foods are of inferior quality and lack transparency. These can harm dogs. Dog nutrition is therefore an extremely underestimated risk of disease.

And that's exactly why we've kept at it: We want to raise awareness among dog owners about the importance of nutrition and provide more dogs with a good, healthy diet.

To date, over 2,000 furry friends have had the opportunity to try Alpenwuff and benefit from our transparent, high-quality recipes.
